Class of 1970 40th Reunion - July 1 - 4 2010

Thursday, July 1 A dinner cruise from Auke Bay to Orca Lodge. Beautiful scenery, excellent food, good company!! We will do a memorial for classmates who are no longer with us. Friday, July 2 A gathering at JDHS for friends, staff, family and anyone wanting to celebrate with the Class of '70. Music from the 60...'s, dancing if you wish, potluck, tour of the school, more good company. Saturday, July 3 An afternoon picnic at Auke Rec. (Good weather is guaranteed!) Final preparation on the float this day as well. Saturday evening will be filled with Juneau events including fireworks, etc. Sunday, July 4, A Class of '70 parade float with as many classmates as possible participating with their families / friends. The float will be created in the week ahead of reunion events and all locals are encouraged to come swing a hammer, make flowers, tie dye ... who knows what we will come up with? Ideas from experienced float makers (are there such people?) would be greatly appreciated.

Peter Metcalf and Ellen Lupro Betit are planning to gather on Tuesday JANUARY 19, 2010, with any Juneau classmates interested in working on reunion plans. They have many details nailed down but want to pick the brains of other classmates on some ideas. They especially want to talk about the design of the parade float and also discuss desired activit...ies at each of the events. If they can get 8 - 10 folks together, they can make some good headway. They have reserved the meeting room at MiCasa for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19. Who's game? If you can't attend because you aren't in Juneau or have other plans, please share ideas via email for the float and kinds of activities at the events you would like to see or would not be at all interested in.
